Southside Chess is a US Chess Federation affiliate that runs chess clubs, camps, and scholastic tournaments for schools in Eugene, Oregon. Since 1993 Southside chess instructor Jerry Ramey has guided high school and middle school students to more than 56 state titles. Two of his students have won the national junior high chess titles and achieved the status of Master. Clubs meet at elementary, middle, or high schools.
